Andrew Eig, Ph.D., ABPP is a licensed clinical psychologist, a certified psychoanalyst, and a specialist of the American Board of Professional Psychology. He is also a Diplomate in Group Psychotherapy and is an executive board member of the American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Eig received his B.A. with honors in psychology from Wesleyan University and his Ph.D. from Adelphi University, considered the top psychodynamic program in the country. He completed his internship and chief internship at NYU/Bellevue Hospital. A gifted teacher, he holds faculty appointments at The Derner Insitute for Advanced Psychology and The Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis and has taught doctoral and postdoctoral students in psychology on a variety of topics.
Dr. Eig treats individuals, couples, and groups and has had advanced training in all of these modalities. He specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, addictions, eating disorders and personality disorders. Dr. Eig is known for tailoring each of his treatment to the person, so that each therapy is unique.
Dr. Eig is currently President of the American Academy of Group Psychology. He is President Elect of the America Board of Group Psychology.
He has also been the guest editor for a special edition of the journal GROUP. This issue discusses the interaction of digital media and psychotherapy.
Dr. Eig has lectured nationally and internationally on psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, and group psychotherapy.
